Ten-nyo is a celestial maiden in Japanese fairy tale. |
She flies with beautiful sheer fabrics, which is called HAGOROMO. |
In the story, while she was flying, she dropped the HAGOROMO down the earth. She found it was hanging top of the tree, but she couldn't reach it because the tree was high. A young man was watching the event. She was very beautiful. He asked her that what she was doing. She said," My HAGOROMO is on top of the tree. I can't go home if I don't have it." He climbed the tree, then gave the HAGOROMO to her. She thanked him and flew to the sky. |
Because she is Ten-nyo, I wanted to make her as if she can fly. Therefore, I didn't make traditional Kimono style. I used transparent georgette for the lower part of kimono. In addition, I added ruffles for the under garment. These designs shows floating or airy effect. The pale pink and green streamers are HOGOROMO. She can fly with them. |
Original doll was Princess of Japan The hair was re-rooted. Eyes are hazel with pinkish eye shadows The lips are cute red A rhinestone on her forehead tells you that she is not a human. She is pure, innocent, and lovely! |
This Kimono was made in five pieces. The top part of Kimono fabric is aged 100% pure silk. Red, white and pale green Japanese apricot flowers printed on pale pink background. A very pretty fabric! The gown is Chirimen, crape. Very lovely color! The Obi is golden brocade. |
